People come up will all sorts of excuses for not investing in themselves but honestly, there is only one real reason? You may hear people say that they don't have time to invest in themselves but that's a futile argument when it only takes a few minutes per day to get a return on any investment into one's self.
The first two reasons people give for not investing in themselves are surface reasons. When someone says they don't have time that really means investing in themselves is not a priority. When they say they can't afford to invest in themselves it's because they aren't making it a priority. So the question then becomes "why aren't people making the investment into themselves a priority?" The answer is a simple one. They don't invest in themselves because they don't believe in themselves. Listen as I explain in the video below. Be sure to leave a comment below let us know what you think. Activist, event planner and entrepreneur Eleanie Campbell stops by Talking Money in the Morning to join the conversation on economic empowerment in the black community. As we continue Black Wall Street Week we had to get a female's perspective and we knew there was no one better than Eleanie.
For years Eleanie has been on the front lines fighting for social justice and community unity but it wasn't until recently that she realized that the real fight is for economic justice. It's time we TAKE our piece of the American pie.
Check out the replay of Talking Money in the Morning LIVE! below.

Andre C. Hatchett founder of The Black Real Estate School weighs in on Black Wall Street Week. Social activist, entrepreneur, author and as unapologetic as they come, Hatchett share is unique solutions to fixing the economic issues in the Black Community.
Andre shares how he got pushed into entrepreneurship sooner than he originally anticipated. Being an educated black man full of ambition and drive in a corporate environment just wouldn't work long term, he says. He bought his first rental property at 22 years of age hasn't looked back since.
If your goal is to figure out how to become independently wealthy, you have to check out the replay below. Be sure to leave us a comment and let us know what you think.

As we kick off New Black Wall Street week we could think of no one else to set the ton than our beloved brother, Certified Financial Educator, Evan Jefferson, founder of ERGJ Enterprises and New Black Wall Street. Evan's passion for our community is strong and like all of our panelist for this week, he's solutions focused.
If you are looking for solutions to help build the black community you have to watch today's Talking Money in the Morning LIVE! with Evan Jefferson. He laid out a plan for developing an economic power structure that will only grow and become more powerful as we continue to educate and wake more of our people up. As I always say we can develop our community without capital and we can't economically empower our community unless we first empower the people within our community economically. Evan Jefferson, Club Milli and New Black Wall Street are empowering our people with real financial education. See for yourself.

Life boils down to your habits? Wealthy people believe differently, think differently and act differently therefore they get different results. Today we list 10 habits that wealthy people have that poor people don't. I'll list them here but check out today's "Talking Money in the Morning LIVE!" show for in depth commentary on each of these habits.
1. Read - Wealthy people exercise their brains by reading daily.
2. Visualize - Wealthy people spend time seeing themselves as the successful person the want to become so that they do the necessary to get them there.
3. Exercise - Take your physical health seriously as it is directly linked to your emotional health. Poor emotional health leads to poor decision making.
4. Seek Council - All wealth people have mentors.
5. Calculated Risks - You can't be afraid to take risks if you want to be successful or wealthy.
6. Positive Self-talk - Wealthy people are always affirming their greatness. Not to others but to themselves.
7. Plan, Plot, Strategize - You can't get where you want to go without a plan or a road map.
8. Rise Early - The ole saying goes..."the early bird get's the worm." Wealthy people really believe that.
9. Invest in themselves - Wealthy people are always investing their time and money into things that will help them grow.
10. Associate with winners - The wealthy make a habit of associating with winners.
Check out the replay of "Talking Money in the Morning LIVE" for more commentary on these 10 habits. Be sure to leave us a comment and let us know what you think.
