The last installment of this insightful series on Vision.
What a series. We are now at the final episode and I'm a little sad that it has to end. I can only hope you've gotten out of it as much as I did. It was fun preparing it but I can't wait to listen to the podcast on iTunes/Stitcher as a fan. Before we can get into the last 3 principles and wrap this series up check out a brief recap of the first 9 principles.
Principle #1 - Be directed by a clear vision - Don't be what I call a lazy visionary. Make your vision as clear and as detailed as possible. Even if some parts of your vision seem to be far fetch remember the source of the vision is God and nothing's impossible for Him. In Part 2 of this series we spent time on principles 2 & 3. Principle #2 - Know your potential for fulfilling vision - Since God is the source of the vision, know that He has already equipped you with what you need to fulfill the vision or He'll provide the necessary resources as they are needed. Principle #3 - Develop a concrete plan - The vision comes from God and the plan is up to us. The Bible says the "Step of a good man are ordered by God," but if you ain't stepping God ain't ordering. You have to put a plan together and take action and God will guide you along the way. In Part 3 we covered principles 4-6 Principle #4 - Posses the passion of vision - There has never been anyone that has achieve any level of success without passion. It's one of the fundamental cornerstones of success. So to successfully fulfill your vision you'll need passion. Principle #5 - Develop the faith of vision - Sight is a function of the eyes while vision is a function of the heart and one's belief. If you don't believe in the vision you'll never commit to the vision and you won't succeed if you're not committed. Principle #6 - Understand the process of vision - For everything there is a process, so to with vision. You have to understand that the vision is given by God the planning is up to you. Most times the resources aren't revealed until needed so you have to walk by faith, that's just part of the process. In part 4 we covered principles 7-9 Principle #7 - Set the priorities of vision - Priority is the key to effective decision making and keeps you from getting distracted. If you're going to fulfill your vision you'll have to learn to set priorities. Principle #8 - Recognize other peoples influence on your vision - If you can accomplish your vision on your own, chances are that vision didn't come from God. You're going to need other people to reach your goal, the key is to be certain to distinguish positive influence from negative influence. Principle #9 - Employ the provision of vision - It's our job to understand, believe and plan for the vision but it's God's job to provide the resources to fulfill the vision. Principles 10-12 for Fulfilling Your Vision
Principle #10: Persistence in Achieving the Vision - Persistence is one of the most critical ingredients for success. It simply means you have the drive to keep moving forward when things break down, obstacle get in your way but you NEVER quit. Because the vision itself came from God, doesn't mean it's going to be easy to fulfill. Remember the process of vision is to develop character and build responsibility in you. Check out more worthy points on persistence to accomplish the vision.
Principle #11: Be Patient in the Fulfillment of Vision - You've probably said that patience is a virtue, and that's true but it so much more than that. Patience is often the difference between success and failure. All life is...is time and timing is the most underrated aspect of our entire existence.
Principle #12: Stay Connected to the Source of Vision - We've established that the vision comes from God but it's strange to see so many people try to complete it without Him.
As we come down the home stretch of this 5 part series on the 12 Principles for Fulfilling Your Personal Vision I must admit I had no idea I'd grow so much in such a short time. Dr. Myles Munroe's book "The Principles and Power of Vision has truly blessed my spirit. Thanks Mom, best Christmas present ever.
I don't know about you but this series is really blessing me. Just a quick recap on the first 6 principles then we'll move on to principles 7-9.
